Assistant Financial Planner  – Lighthouse Financial Advisors

An Assistant Financial Planner will play a crucial part in supporting our Lead Financial Planner by helping to prepare comprehensive financial plans, conducting research, and assisting with client management. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Planner to join our team, helping us provide exceptional service & insight to our valued clients. Ideal candidates will have at least 1 to 2 years previous experience and working knowledge of the industry and a desire to attain the CFP designation.  For the right candidate without previous experience, we are open to training. Must have Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial & Tax Planning
    • Assist in the preparation and filing of individual tax returns and quarterly filings, staying current with continuing education in tax and financial law.
    • Contribute to the development and management of annual financial and tax agendas, helping to ensure alignment with client objectives and essential financial planning concepts to achieve success.
    • Assist in the resolution of tax notices and delinquencies, acting promptly to reassure and guide clients through solutions.
  • Assist in preparation for Financial Review meeting for new prospects. Participate in entering, analyzing and creating recommendations based on current and prior data.
  • Develop competence in building attainable education plans for clients’ children who are preparing for college. For those students, assist with directly managing tuition payments.
  • Assist in the processing of payrolls & mandatory quarterly regulatory filings for applicable clients self-employed businesses.
  • Investment Management
    • Assist in strategizing and managing client portfolios, supporting the creation of investment plans tailored to each client’s spending needs, risk tolerance and long-term financial goals.
    • Assist in analyzing portfolio performance and gathering data to provide recommendations for adjustments based on market conditions and client-specific factors.
    • Support the oversight of cash flow management to ensure it aligns with clients’ current financial needs and objectives.
  • Client Relations
    • Build and sustain strong, trusting relationships with clients, understanding their goals and assisting in translating these into actionable, disciplined financial plans.
    • Serve as a reliable point of contact for clients, ensuring all their needs are addressed promptly.
    • Assist in the preparation for client meetings, coordinating with the team to ensure high standards of service and attention to detail.
    • Assist in streamlining routine tasks and ensuring smooth workflows to improve the efficiency of day-to-day operations.
